Group Get Together Announced | 1st Uxbridge Scout Group

1st Uxbridge announces an informal reunion of former members and supporters of 1^st Uxbridge Scouts and I have pleasure in inviting you to attend on Saturday 7^th June 2008. The Get-Together will start from 4pm and end around 10pm.

Refreshments in the form of a finger or fork buffet will be available from about 6pm and wines, lager and soft drinks available throughout the evening as well as tea and coffee. There will be no charge for attendance or any of the refreshments but donations are invited, particularly for drinks and a raffle will be held so that hopefully the event will result in no cost to the group funds.

1^st Uxbridge Scouts Centenary Reunion Get-Together Saturday 7^th June 2008

I am now able to tell you the arrangements for the informal reunion of former members and supporters of 1^st Uxbridge Scouts and I have pleasure in inviting you to attend on Saturday 7^th June 2008. The Get-Together will start from 4pm and end around 10pm. We are aiming to make the arrangements as convenient as possible for anyone wishing to attend, so please feel free to come or leave at any time you wish, we just hope to see you there. The invitation is of course extended to include your wife / partner / companion or even son(s) or daughter(s) or any one you may wish to accompany you.

Refreshments in the form of a finger or fork buffet will be available from about 6pm and wines, lager and soft drinks available throughout the evening as well as tea and coffee. There will be no charge for attendance or any of the refreshments but donations are invited, particularly for drinks and a raffle will be held so that hopefully the event will result in no cost to the group funds.

We shall set out displays of pictures of past scout camps, parades and other activities to hopefully bring back memories of some of the fun and happy times we have had in years gone by. If you have any photographs of scout activities or camps you attended and are able to bring them along we would be pleased to see them. This particularly applies for groups of members especially if you have the names of those pictured and if possible we hope to scan suitable pictures for inclusion in the 1^st Uxbridge archives.

We aim to have video footage running of camps and activities in more recent years and also for the benefit of those not on the internet a showing of the 1^st Uxbridge websites.

The response to my original letters to former members has been very pleasing but there must be hundreds that we have no contact with, so I ask again for the information about the reunions to be passed on to any others you know who may be interested in joining us. The more we have at this informal gathering the better and the more worthwhile it makes all the time spent by those involved in arranging the event.

I do look forward to meeting you on 7^th June to have a drink together and reminisce over past times and tickets for the Reunion Dinner on Saturday 27^th September will be available then.

Finally, it would be helpful if you could please confirm numbers intending to attend before the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday 29^th May.
